The NZFFA have invited NZIF members to their meeting, details below

Wednesday 17th July – the real Simon Upton

The Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment is happy to talk to us, and will give us his views on forestry, farming and climate change on Wednesday 17th.  He’ll be at the Forest Wood boardroom from 5.30 pm, so join us there after 5 but before we lock the front door.  Simon’s report “Farms, forests and fossil fuels: The next great landscape transformation?” came out in March but was immediately swept aside by the Government to the distress of many.  Along with the overview, press release and FAQs for those who don’t want the full chapter and verse, it’s available from https://www.pce.parliament.nz/publications/farms-forests-and-fossil-fuels-the-next-great-landscape-transformation.

Some of us would like to hear how he sees small-scale forestry as part of the process to help to mitigate climate change.

Venue and Date:  Forest Wood Centre, 93 The Terrance, before 5:30 pm (if there’s no-one on the door to let in latecomers, call 027 481 5454 and hope).   Wed 17 July

Please RSVP to Howard Moore Email   howard.moore@outlook.co.nz
