Membership

Membership of the New Zealand Institute of Forestry (NZIF) is open to all those currently studying, working in or with an interest in forestry.  Members’ qualifications or areas of expertise reflect the diversity of disciplines involved in managing a modern forest resource, from traditional forestry degrees through to economics, law, micro-biology, engineering and resource management.

Membership at 31 March 2009 was 834.

Classes of membership are Student, Graduate, Associate, Full, Registered, Retired and Honorary.  “Excellence in the Profession” may be acknowledged by election as a Fellow.
